Felix raced down the slime-coated pathway, urging Mr. Biggles to move as fast as his massive paws would carry him. As they went, Felix checked his mini-map, ensuring he would be able to find his way back to his friends.

It didn’t take him long to get far enough away that he was deemed “out of combat”—thanks to his friends keeping the creature from following. As soon as that happened he equipped his Ratcatcher’s cloak. While you could swap weapons in combat, swapping your main armor slot had to be done outside of combat.

Taking a deep breath and hoping this wasn't as insane as it seemed, Felix sent out a Primal Surge enhanced Sense Creature, locating as many Infested Rat Swarms as possible then headed toward them. Every single one.

He even used Summon Swarm to send smaller groups of rats out in search of their corrupted brethren. They were his allies so they were immediately considered hostile toward the other rats, meaning he could use them to draw aggro.

The mad dash took them past collapsed walls, down ruined hallways, and through a few rare open spaces, strewn with rubble and decay. Everywhere they went, red beady eyes appeared in the darkness, eager to join the chase due to the inflammatory effect of the Rat Catcher’s Cloak.

Patches too used his impressive flight speed to draw even more screeching, squealing foes their way. There was not an iota of fear from the brave little bird, even though a single rat swarm could easily have reduced him to pixels in seconds. The little fella was just happy to be helping.

As he raced through the corridors, more and more rats picked up the chase. He had to be careful with how he navigated so the rats always remained behind him, or far enough away that he could get ahead of them as he doubled back toward the boss arena.

The squealing was maddening, it drilled into his ears like a thousand tiny power drills. His enhanced hearing only made it worse, he wasn't even sure the sound was at a pitch humans were supposed to hear.

Me! Patches cried in Felix’s mind as he flew by with the last rat swarm in tow. This would have to be enough.

Felix’s Sense was alight with hundreds of tiny rat-shaped energy sources, all bearing down on him as he raced through the ruined maze of stones. Only a minute or so had passed, but with every second he could feel his allies Health ticking down further.

It was now or never.

Here we go.

Mr. Biggles had already made it clear he was not a fan of this plan, except for the part where he would eventually get to kill a lot of rats, that part he was unreasonably excited about. Mr. Biggles had quite a history with rodents.

Images of a honey badger hissing and spitting at a massive wolf and a hyena snapping at a roaring hippopotamus flashed through Felix’s mind. He took it to mean something along the lines of; I hope you know what you are doing.
